Some of Britain’s most-loved institutions including the nation's beloved chippies have been hit by the soaring cost-of-living with a portion now topping £10. The rising cost of ingredients has added to the pressure on traditional chippies throughout the country. However, malt vinegar brand, Sarson’s, has pledged to reimburse the price of hundreds of fish and chip dinners with #SarsonsFryday. He said: “#SarsonsFryday is a fantastic way to reward the loyal customers who keep our fish & chip shops open for business. Sarson’s vinegar has been traditionally crafted since 1794 and is brewed from British malt, fermented with larch wood wool from the Leighton Estate in Wales and matured in the Siberian pine vats.
