Prosecutors today brought new charges against the medic, identified only as Niels H under reporting rules, who is already serving a life sentence for murdering two patients. If Niels H is found guilty of the new charges, it would make him Germany's deadliest serial killer post-war. The new charges come in addition to two counts of murder for which a court in Oldenburg sentenced him to life in prison in 2015.
