The North Korean Embassy in Berlin. German media on Tuesday reported that as part of government plans to increase sanctions against North Korea, officials are to ban the operation of a popular tourist hostel at the Asian country’s Berlin embassy. Part of this escalation of measures would include hitting North Korea in its revenues earned in Germany, specifically through its centrally-located embassy in Berlin. Sources within government circles further said that the North Korean delegation in Berlin has long been a problem. North Korean representatives are also often under observation due to concerns that they may try to procure materials for their country’s nuclear programme, SZ reports.
