Geraldine High School's environmentally friendly lighting

Geraldine High School Year 9 students Emily Stack, and Ethan Taylor, both 13 work under the new LED lighting. The installation of LED lighting throughout classrooms at the Geraldine High School is another step towards reducing its environmental impact. The school's LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) are funded through the Ministry of Education Sustainability Contestable Fund which is designed to support schools to reduce their environmental impact and improve operational efficiency. This school’s LED project follows the installation of 150 solar panels on the roof of the school in 2019. It provides up to 25 per cent of the school’s domestic electricity needs.
