PETALING JAYA; Gerakan has condemned the action of a non-governmental organisation (NGO) for forcing a local supermarket in Kampung Manjoi, Perak, to remove its alcohol stock. “We cannot forcefully impose Muslims’ concerns about alcohol over the right of non-Muslims to drink. “As of now, there is no legal prohibition of stores selling alcohol as long as they adhere to certain guidelines. Since Pakatan Harapan is helming Perak and the Federal Government, the coalition should voice their stand on the matter, he added. “I call on all parties to internalise the spirit of the Federal Constitution and subscribe to the concept of unity in diversity.
