The other, Blade Runner 2049, will not. Blade Runner, which cost 50 percent more than Geostorm’s $100 million, is a languidly paced, dreamy tone poem, a movie that requires viewers to constantly think to keep up with it. More than four times as many bought tickets on Friday and Saturday for Geostorm than did for Blade Runner 2049. Blade Runner 2049 wasn't so lucky. At a minimum, Geostorm will likely finish its China run with around $60 million to $75 million in box office receipts, barring an unexpectedly leggy hold.
