Michael DeVoe scored a game-high 18 points on Wednesday as Georgia Tech pulled away from Hawaii in the second half’s last 10 minutes to claim third place in the Diamond Head Classic with a 70-53 win at Honolulu. From that point, Georgia Tech outscored Hawaii 25-6, holding it without a field goal for the final 9:51. Hawaii made a push in the next five minutes, rallying for a 14-12 lead when Justin Hemsley dunked off a missed shot. The advantage reached 19-12 at the 8:39 mark as Justin Webster canned two free throws, but the Yellow Jackets responded. Another Parham layup gave Georgia Tech a 29-25 edge, but the Warriors scored the first half’s last seven points.
