Easy Rider star, Dennis Hopper, lived in Taos in the former home of the famous art muse Mabel Dodge Luhan (the home is now a guest house, meetings venue and retreat). Taos celebrates Dennis Hopper Day on May 17th, and although the celebration was cancelled this year due to Covid-19, it’s planned to happen again in May 2021. 1969: Actor and director Dennis Hopper in a scene from his movie 'Easy Rider' in 1969. Paul Newman and Robert Redford shot parts of the film in Taos and nearby Chama, New Mexico. The house is a museum, and like the Georgia O’Keefe Museum in Santa Fe, is currently closed due to Covid-19 restrictions.
