General Byng School was placed under a hold-and-secure Monday afternoon as police investigated a weapons call at a nearby home. Jay Murray said a home on Mars Drive, near the school, was contained for a possible threat. Police attended as a precautionary measure, said Murray, and the school was placed in what's called a hold and secure situation, with no one allowed to enter or leave the building. Police did not release any other details.
