Monrovia – The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection announce the holding of this year’s International Women's Day under the global theme “Press for Progress”. The National Theme is Act Now: Support the Liberian Women Agenda. In commemoration of this year’s celebrations, President George Manneh Weah has issued a proclamation declaring Thursday, March 8, International Women’s Day and it is to be celebrated as a working holiday. President Weah is to also deliver a special statement in commemoration of International Women’s Day schedule to take place at the SKD Sports Complex beginning at 8:00 A.M. The International Women's Day is an annual event held on March 8 of each year to celebrate women's achievements, identify the rights and power of women and give them the status they deserve across nations.
