Warren Gatland apologises to Joe Schmidt after Ireland beat WalesGETTY Warren Gatland was in a generous mood despite the loss. Warren Gatland has issued an apology - of sorts - to Kiwi compatriot Joe Schmidt after Ireland beat Wales in a Six Nations thriller. Gatland - who was coaching Wales for the 100th time - paid tribute to Schmidt's side after the match. Gatland accused Ireland of playing a "very narrow" game and "not playing a lot of rugby" during the 2015 Six Nations. Schmidt was sanguine about Gatland's post-match comments on Saturday - and praised the way Wales went about the game.
