A 24-year-old woman was to appear in court Friday after she was arrested by Gatineau police Thursday afternoon when workers at her child’s daycare reported they believed the woman was intoxicated while picking up her child. Police caught up with the suspect and pulled over the vehicle at the corner of Boulevard de la Cité and Rue de Lausanne. According to police reports, the driver resisted arrest before being brought to the station, where she was given two breath tests, allegedly registering three times the legal blood-alcohol limit. She was arrested, her car was impounded and her child was handed over to Quebec’s children’s aid services. She is charged with driving under the influence, breach of release conditions (including a ban on drinking alcohol) and uttering threats.
