Worker assaulted during gas station robbery in lower Kaimai Ranges PHILLIPA YALDENSUNLIVE Police were called to Tauriko gas station at 6.48am on Thursday. Three teenagers behind a gas station robbery that left a worker injured in Tauranga fled over the Kaimai Ranges where they were nabbed by police. The trio drove a stolen silver Mazda into the forecourt of the gas station on SH29 and ran inside, demanding cash and cigarettes. This is the second time in two months the gas station has been targeted by thieves. In May ram raiders armed with a knife hit the gas station at 2am on a Wednesday.
