Last week, CNN hosted its second Libertarian Party presidential ticket town hall with Mr. Johnson and his running mate, Bill Weld. Mr. Johnson has some real-life experience with that, having climbed Mount Everest in 2003. If there were a time for Mr. Johnson to gain traction, that time would be now. Mr. Johnson, the former governor of New Mexico and two-time Libertarian Party presidential candidate, was in Philadelphia last month for the Democratic National Convention. Third-party candidates like Mr. Johnson haven’t been given much respect or attention in recent years, but this election is a little different.
