The deceased identified as Rabbi Hossain, 21, son of Nur Hossain, lived in Savar's Hemayetpur area and worked in a local garment factory. On November 26, Rabbi's neighbours Mamun and Rasel abducted him to a house in Hemayetpur and demanded Tk3 lakh as ransom. Drugs were used on him to render him unconscious, said sources from the police and the victim's family. Subsequently the body was dumped in the Buriganga River, the sources added.
