We should be happy that the departed souls lost during the terror attack in Garissa University attack are getting a dose justice in their graves. The recent reports about the murder of one of Al-Shaabab's high-ranking leader, Kuno Gamadhere in Somalia ought to have brought jubilant celebrations to the residents of the area. However, we should be saddened and worried by the recent report from Hans Seidel Foundation that cited our prisons as recruitment dens for the Al-Shabaab members. The news was never given much attention by the masses despite it featuring massively in the local dailies including the localised vernacular radio stations. Of much importance is to reorganise our prisons to offer the much needed correctional services as opposed to the current face of punishment.
