Greenwood left Manchester United to join Getafe on a season-long loan after his parent club made a late decision against reintegrating him back into the first-team squad. The 22-year-old has not played for United since his arrest in January 2022 for attempted rape, controlling behaviour and assault. His loan move to Getafe has been a successful one, scoring eight goals and providing five assists in 26 appearances. ‘Well for me I don’t think it’s something for pre-Euros,’ the England boss said.
