As the Homosexual Law Reform Bill was being battled out in New Zealand three decades ago, composer Gareth Farr was just coming out as a gay man. Supplied Gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people make up The Glamaphones choir. In the lead up to the Reform Bill, anti-gay campaigners warned about the demise of the family unit, or that AIDS might spread through the nation. For the Glamaphones concerts, Farr has composed a special piece for the choir to sing, based on two poems written by gay poets.
