Gardaí have launched an investigation into a suspected arson attack outside a house in Longford town overnight that saw a pick-up truck extensively damaged by fire. The incident took place in the Ardnacassa area of the midlands town at around 2am this morning. Detectives are now trying to establish a motive for an incident which is now the subject of a garda investigation. Follow Independent Longford on FacebookPart of that probe is understood to also involve an incident involving a number of individuals that took place in Longford town on Sunday. “Gardaí are investigating an alleged incident of criminal damage which took place in Ardnacassa, Co Longford, at around 2am on Tuesday, 8th October, 2024,” said a garda spokesperson.
