NajeebIn protest against the delay in finding a solution to the garbage management issue faced by the city, Opposition councillors of the Thrissur city Corporation staged a sit-in in front of the Mayor’s chamber on Friday. As the drainage canals in the city were clogged with garbage, low-laying areas in the city got flooded even during mild showers, they alleged. Epidemic outbreakThe city was under the threat of an epidemic outbreak as piled-up garbage offered breeding grounds for disease-carrying vectors, they added. Mukundan inaugurated the protest.
