Metro officials want an immediate end to the burning of garbage at an unauthorised dump right below the metro viaduct near the Sampige Road station. But this line could come to a halt if citizens continue to illegally burn garbage under the metro route at Malleswaram. BMRCL officials warn that the civic crime could hamper operationsThe Namma Metro Green Line between Sampige Road station and Nagasandra averages around 40,000 commuters daily. Steps like posting of security and asking the contractors not to dump garbage at the spot have been in vain. The spot has been turned into a dump by garbage contractors, who regularly set fire to waste.
