Garage full from a life of model making

Trevor Hobman, prolific and intricate model maker has created a museum in his garage. The 91-year-old's Palmerston North shed has become a museum to show off Hobman's painstakingly detailed creations – handmade wooden models of aircraft, boats and trucks. WARWICK SMITH/STUFF Hobman has built many of New Zealand's most famous shipwrecks. Hobman's favourite model is of the Mikhail Lermontov, a luxury Russian cruise ship that sunk in the Marlborough Sounds in 1986. WARWICK SMITH/STUFF Hobman enjoys making "firsts", including this penny farthing bicycle.
