Ganatantra Mancha, a coalition of seven political parties, has announced plans to stage a protest outside the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources on June 19, demanding a solution to what it calls “unbearable loadshedding and energy crisis”. “Apart from that, on Monday (June 12), the alliance is set to hold a protest at Dhaka's National Press Club against the attacks on our leaders during a road march to Dinajpur from June 4-7,” announced Saiful Haque, the general secretary of the Biplobi Workers Party and coordinator of Ganatantra Manch, at a press conference on Sunday morning. Referring to the alleged attacks and obstructions during the road march towards Dinajpur, Saiful Haq stated: "These incidents of attack prove that the Awami League government is now trembling in public terror.”“They have become ruthless due to the fear of losing power, they are losing control even at peaceful assemblies and processions,” he added.
