Gamers will play at the French Open as tennis makes its esports debut


Tennis is the latest sport to host an esports tournament after French Open organisers Roland Garros announced their first gaming tournament which will give gamers a chance to attend one of the biggest tennis events of the year. Players from the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Italy, Germany, China, India and Brazil will compete in a demo-version of the unreleased Tennis World Tour game made by Bigben Interactive. Gamers will compete in the World Tour Tennis game during the French Open later this yearThe winner of each region will then travel to the French Open in Paris on May 25 where they will play in the finals of the tournament. With the French Open starting on May 21, the e-series finals will be held during the opening rounds of the tournament. The e-series is part of a renewed agreement between BNP Paribas and the French Tennis Federation (FFT), according to the Esports Observer, in which the deal will last until 2021.
