Galen Daley Blake McNeil and Connor Waters Pierson were married Nov. 2 at the Adamson House, a house and gardens in Malibu, Calif. Paul E. Pierson, a retired Presbyterian pastor and the groom’s paternal grandfather, officiated. Ms. McNeil is pursuing a doctorate in clinical psychology researching positive emotions in families at the University of California, Los Angeles, from which she received a master’s degree in psychology. She is a daughter of Suzanne Daley of Manhattan and Donald G. McNeil Jr. of Brooklyn. The bride’s parents both work in Manhattan at The New York Times. Mr. Pierson is the head of marketing at Quizizz, an education technology company in Santa Monica, Calif., focused on motivating students.
