The recent visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to China was no exception in that regard. The Prime Minister also had the opportunity of addressing the China Council for Promotion of International Trade. Before the Prime Minister embarked on a visit to China, the CPEC Authority was established to ensure speedy implementation of the envisaged projects as the programme would be directly dealt by the Prime Minister Office. According to the joint statement “Chinese leaders reiterated solidarity with Pakistan in safeguarding its territorial sovereignty, independence and security. Other countries of the region, including China, Russia and Central Asian nations, have also been affected by it in varying degrees.
