In its refusal, Cork County Council said that the development would materially contravene the objectives of the Cork County Development Plan and “would beexcessively domineering from very many vantage points over a wide area”. Councillors at the February 14 meeting of Cork County Council unanimously declared their opposition to the planned wind farm. "This is far more than a local issue now,” said campaign spokesman Neil Lucey, the owner of Gougane Barra Hotel.
