Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagua yesterday kept the Senate Public Accounts Committee kicking its heels for three hours as he attended the Jubilee Party merger at State House, Nairobi. Gachagua had asked for an hour to attend to personal matters but turned up at State House, where he was caught on camera. He is an official of GNU, which has agreed to fold up and join the Jubilee Party. When Gachagua showed up at noon, he was questioned over Sh20 million in imprests not surrendered by a number of county staff. The committee, headed by Kisumu Senator Anyang’ Nyong’o, criticised the governor for ridiculing its work.
