Gachagua calls for calm, prayers as he faces Senate

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has called on Kenyans to remain calm and peaceful irrespective of the outcome of his trial at the Senate, which starts on Tuesday. "Despite everything happening in the country, my plea is that we maintain peace and calm. The Deputy President further said that he has confidence in the Judiciary in adjudicating the matter if it gets there. While commending 44 Members of Parliament who voted against the impeachment motion, including Manyatta MP Gitonga Mukunji, the DP encouraged leaders to listen to the people. "I thank MPs like Gitonga Mukunji and Njoki Njeru (Embu Woman Representative) for respecting and adhering to the wishes of the people," he said.
