Asked to bat, Ireland posted a challenging 143/7, with Leah Paul supporting Lewis in a 98-run opening partnership. While South Africa managed to come back well with the ball, Ireland's bowlers also did a good job, led by Arlene Kelly's 2-25, to restrict South Africa to 133/7. With 22 needed off 12, South Africa could only manage four in the 19th over while Kelly also dismissed Luus.
