Police Officers from the Wema General Service Unit (GSU) camp in Tana Delta Sub County were rescued on Saturday after their office was submerged in floods. The officers were saved by fellow officers drawn from the Kenya Coast Guard Services (KCGS) who responded to emergency calls. While using a boat, and also clad with lifesavers to avoid drowning, the KCGS officers ferried the stranded GSU officers to a safer area. However, the exact number of officers who had been saved from the flood waters was yet to be established. “The National Police Service commends the GSU Officers, and indeed, all NPS Officers wherever they are serving our Country, for their true reflection of the resilience and great urge of serving our nation,” read a statement by NPS.
