HYDERABAD: The 21st GST Council meeting got underway here with state finance ministers expressing concern over the technical glitches affecting the Goods and Services Tax network. "GST Council will consider preparedness fo filing GST returns," said Amit Mitra, West Bengal finance minister.J&K Finance minister Haseeb Drabu said the issues faced by GSTN are operational and technical. He suggested that a group of minister be formed to look into the issues faced by taxpayers on the GSTN portal.The GSTN, the IT network for the ambitious tax reform measure has faced glitches and taxpayers have complained about issues linked to filing of returns. Gujarat deputy chief minister Nitin Patel said he will urge the Council to lower the rate on khadi.Telengana finance minister E Rajendran said the state will urge the council to consider further lowering the tax rate on works contract.This is the third time that the GST Council is meeting outside Delhi after Jodhpur and SrI nagar.
