GPA CEO Paul Flynn has taken the step of emailing all current inter-county managers to stress the importance of strictly adhering to the ban on collective training before March 29. It reiterated that the players body had agreed with the GAA a ban on "all collective training, collective gym sessions and collective team meetings," throughout the period. In a separate correspondence to GPA members, Flynn warned that "failure to comply" with the cessation of GAA activity from midnight tonight could result in "disturbances to the summer schedule ahead". The GAA are set to reinforce this message to managers over the next 24 hours via the relevant county boards. It is understood that the GAA did not discuss what sanctions counties might face for breach of the training ban in their deliberations, although there are relevant precedents.
