The Davao airport, or the Francisco Bangoy international airport, is the third busiest airport in the Pacific island nation and is located at Catitipan in Davao City in the Mindanao province in the extreme south and is the second largest island in the ex-Spanish colony. “The Government of Philippines has initiated a formal process for privatisation of five regional airports, including the Davao airport. The Davao airport, which has been operational for more than 15 years now, handled over 3.5 million passengers in 2016, and has been growing at 10 per cent CAGR, it said.
