General Motors indicated Monday that it will not be swayed by Donald Trump as the automaker decides the future of its sprawling Lordstown Ohio plant where it recently stopped production of the slow-selling Chevy Cruze. GM has announced that it stopped building the Chevy Cruze, the only model that was manufactured at Lordstown. GM was the exception when it cut a deal with the UAW a decade ago to locate Cruze production in Ohio. One of Trump's many weekend tweet rants read: "Because the economy is so good, General Motors must get their Lordstown, Ohio, plant open, maybe in a different form or with a new owner, FAST! GM could have shuttered the plant precisely to gain leverage on the union as it goes into negotiations later this year.
