GM Pakistan Railways inspects Karachi Express accident site after one died, 40 injured


ROHRI: Chief Executive Officer/Senior General Manager (CEO/SGM) Pakistan Railways Nisar Ahmed Memon on Sunday has inspected the site where nine bogies of Karachi Express train derailed. The Railways GM has said that a report will be compiled regarding the mishap after thorough investigation. Seven passenger trains that are to arrive in Karachi and eight that are to reach Lahore have been delayed due to the accident. However, railway authorities confirmed that the Lahore to Karachi train track has been restored but operations but the Karachi to Lahore train track will be made functional after 10 hours. In October 2019, 74 people were killed after they a fire erupted inside a passenger train in Rahim Yar Khan.
