There are people who don’t care much for the occasion or spending money on it; while others like to splurge on Valentine’s Day and perhaps other occasions. Some people reacquaint themselves with exes or go on blind dates...just for Valentine’s Day. But at the end of the day, they are merely trying to look good for other people. He accepted the offer, not believing it would pan out, though really wishing it would because he needed the money. But do it every day, not just on Valentine’s Day.
