GECOL in talks with South Korean companies over stalled projects

A delegation from the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) has arrived in Seoul for talks on the return of South Korean companies and resumption of the stalled projects in Libya. “Both sides discussed return of SK companies, security situations here in addition to other legal and financial matters,” the GECOL reported. They also discussed the possibility to lift the travel ban imposed by the South Korean government on the South Korean companies in order to facilitate their return. The General Electricity Company described the visit as fruitful and said a roadmap for the return of South Korean companies was prepared. Earlier this year, GECOL announced the return of Turkey’s ENKA Teknik to restart work on Ubari power station in south Libya.
