Share:ISLAMABAD - The World Bank has projected that Pakistan’s GDP growth rebounded to 3.5 per cent in previous fiscal year as against the estimates of 3.94 per cent of the government Pakistan. Country Director World Bank for Pakistan, Najy Benhassine informed the media that projections of the World Bank and Pakistan regarding calculations of GDP growth are different due to uncertainties stemming out of the COVID pandemic. Speaking on the occasion, WB’s Economist for Pakistan Zehra Aslam said government had projected the GDP growth on the provisional data of first nine months (July to March) of the fiscal year. The WB, in its report, has estimated Pakistan’s GDP at 3.4 percent for the current fiscal year as against the government target 4.9 percent. To sustain strong economic growth, Pakistan needs to increase private investment and export more.
