Monaghan fell to a 1-27 to 0-18 loss to Armagh while Andy Moran's reign as Mayo boss is underway with a 3-18 to 2-18 win over Galway. In Division 2, Cork bested Cavan by 0-24 to 2-17 while Louth got the better of Offaly by 1-21 to 0-19. They smashed Waterford 3-25 to 1-17 in their first game of the National Hurling League Division 1A. The Cats beat Offaly by 0-20 to 0-16 at Nowlan Park.
