G-20 summit: Why it’s right to “de-hyphenate” India from Pakistan


Prime Minister Narendra Modi has raised, and normally led with, the issue of terrorism at every bilateral meeting he has held in and around the G-20 summit in Hangzhou. The G-20, though struggling, is the world’s most important economic gathering and its agenda is to tackle the world’s considerable economic problems. India has called upon other governments to “de-hyphenate” it from Pakistan. Pakistan aspires to the first, runs interference with the second and its FDI targets are on par with those of Rwanda. India will be eligible to host the G-20 in a few years time.
