Senior executives at Stellantis, Vauxhall's parent company, are set to decide the future of the Cheshire plant, marking a critical moment for Britain's post-Brexit manufacturing. Stellantis has been discussing the facility in the context of the overall demand outlook, the ongoing transition to electric vehicles and the likelihood of government financial support. Production fell by 29.3 per cent compared to the previous year, down to 920,928 cars. Prices for electric vehicles start at around £30,000, although they are getting cheaper.
