Funding to fix potholes across England and Wales was boosted by £200million in the Spring Budget, leading to a £20m windfall for the SNP thanks to the Barnett Formula. However, Transport Scotland was unable to say if the money will be passed on to cash-strapped councils or road management firms. This is despite SNP ministers previously slashing the cash available for trunk road and motorway repair in 2023-24 by over £75m. Now we find that we can't even drive safely on Scottish roads. He added: "The roads here are in an appalling state, as are the roads in Glasgow, sadly.
