Tonight, people from around the world will tune in to watch the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, who sadly passed away at the age of 96 on Thursday 8 September. It will be the first funeral to be held for a monarch at Westminster Abbey in 262 years since the passing of King George II in 1760. After the funeral, the Queen’s coffin will be taken to Windsor Castle. A committal service will be held at St George’s Chapel, then a private burial will take place in the King George VI Memorial Chapel.
