SIBU: Sarawakians fully support the compulsory wearing of face masks in public places and on public transport starting from Aug 1. A shipping executive, Albert Tay, 54, said the wearing of face masks in crowded and public areas, especially when using public transport was the right thing to do under the circumstances. A salesman, Bede Yii, 53, said the compulsory wearing of face masks in public places was a good move. Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yakob was reported saying it will be compulsory for the people to wear face masks in crowded public places and on public transport starting Aug 1 or face stern action. “Given the increase to double digits of Covid-19 cases, the government has decided to make wearing face masks in public compulsory in crowded public spaces, especially indoor ones as well as on public transport.
