Fuelled by Delta variant, US COVID-19 cases hit highest level since February

WASHINGTON : US average of daily COVID-19 cases hit the highest level since February on Sunday (local time), fuelled by the Delta variant . It's been used in some severely ill Covid-19 patients, including young adults. Across the country, states are struggling to fend off the Delta variant -- the most contagious strain of coronavirus yet. Moreover, almost half the country is not fully vaccinated, including children under 12 who are not yet eligible but are still vulnerable to COVID-19, reported CNN. Scientists say the Delta variant is as contagious as chickenpox, with each infected person potentially infecting eight or nine other people.
