Fubara mourns Rivers Senator Mpigi, calls him a fighter

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on Friday night joined other well-meaning residents of the state in mourning the late Senator Barinada Mpigi, who until his death represented Rivers South-East Senatorial District at the National Assembly. Fubara said Mpigi would be remembered for his contributions, describing him as “a fighter” whose impact would endure. Reflecting on the inevitability of death, the governor noted that “death is the ultimate end of everything,” adding that no one has control over the length of their lifespan. The governor recalled that he had earlier sent a condolence letter to the family and paid them a visit following the news of Mpigi’s passing. Fubara also appreciated members of the National Assembly and the people of Koroma who attended the service to honour the late senator, praying for their safe return to their various destinations.
