Mohamed Salah was off injured within 30 minutes of last year's Champions League final but celebrating inside two minutes of this one. After such a scintillating season, that had seen him win the Premier League's Player of the Year and win the Golden Boot, Salah was denied the chance, twice, to show his best on the biggest stage. "If I had a choice between the Champions League and the Golden Boot, then of course it would be the Champions League, no doubt the Champions League," Salah said before last year's final. "To win the Champions League is huge for everyone. If Salah was below-par so were Liverpool but it mattered little when the final whistle blew.
