But it was only when the lights went down for a ridiculous little nature documentary — O.K., technically a puppet show with live voice-over — that I began to marvel at Ms. Salerno’s embrace of limitations. Shows at FringeNYC must have easily portable sets: quick to load into the performance space, quick to tear down. Remember Miriam Buether’s white-box set for Caryl Churchill’s “Love and Information,” two years ago at New York Theater Workshop? As the performance built, the elasticity of Ms. Salerno’s creativity became clear. Mr. Roberts and Mr. Frank both have Broadway credits, and the director-choreographer Eamon Foley has given them some impressive dance and movement sequences.
