The office development at 644 Great South Road will have a facade of angled glass. A site once occupied by a cheese factory in Ellerslie, Auckland, is being redeveloped into a three-storey office building with angled floor-to-ceiling windows. Chris Dibble, Colliers’ national director for research, did not expect that to extend to non-CBD prime new office space, and was forecasting modest rent rises starting from next year. Colliers was searching for tenants for the office development, with tenants able to get 1000sqm to 7644sqm, making it suitable as a head office for the likes of a bank or insurance company. “Floor plates that are above 2500sq m are a rare find in the Auckland office market,” Lamb said.
